    Still Shocked In Italy. GFY only new source.

    For most of the day yesterday, GFY was my only news source for what was happening back home.

    Im still shocked over the shit going on back home as I am hitting up internet cafes here for the latest info in Venice Italy.

    My wife and I first got our info on the terrotists attacks from GFY. I was reading the boards when the first post about the plane crashing into the building post came up. I thought it was a sick joke..

    Told my wife sitting behind me in the cafe and other americans in this cafe laughed.

    Then another GFY post came up, and another, and another. I knew it was no joke. I tried to get to cnn.com and 7 other news websites i knew of like msnbc.com and local Portland OR news websites.. All down.. I think they were just overloaded.. Italy was in the dark on what was happening.

    Then I saw another post by hungryman on gfy saying another plane hit the towers.. I told people here what was happening in this cafe, and some 15 people begn to swrm round my computer looking t gfy.

      Scarry time to fly. Thank God im not flying home for another month.. Neve been scared to fly but flying out of London to The USA in 4 weeks is starting to scare me.

          Stay safe where you are!

          I live in Louisiana (about 100 miles away from where Bush landed yesterday morning) and I was scared to death.

              tenletters, i don't think there's a reason to be scary now. Boneprone, is the internet connection slow in Italy like here? It seems that everybody in europe is online, yesterday my whole icq list was online

                  yeah, actualy the first thing I thought was were we safe here? Being in Italy I think its a pretty neautral safe place.. No need to bomb the Italy I guess, and the people here seem to like Americans. I was in France all last week, and In London the week before.. Id be scared if I were still up there in the tourist areas, but for the most part Italy is pretty safe..

                  Im just sickened by whats happening back home. Never would I think something like this could happen to us. Never.

                      Yes Soul Rebel it is slow!

                      Internet connection is much better today than yesterday. Like I said, I could not access ANY news sites here yesterday as the shit was unfolding. I had to get ALL my info from GFY, as did 14 others here in the cafe.

                      After I left the cafe to run back to my hotel to watch news on TV im sure there were over 20 people here reaing your posts on GFY for updates.

                      I told them it was an American News center message board.. It was the only site working with info, and people thought it was a joke, so I had to tell them something.

                                          For the first time ever, Im actually glad that Bush has a bunch of trigger happy war and milatary people around him.. His whole staff is including the vice president are milatary background people.. I dont see them backing down on anything, when we find the bastards..

                                                  I can't see the connection of a war with a terrorism action. Has anyone the right to pick a country as a target and blame them for the actions of 10-100 fanatic people? NO.
                                                  I didn't saw Bush sad about the victims, but for the hurt status of his country concerning security issues and what we call a superpower. I might be wrong, just what i received from his words and his face. Yesterday, Lensman said about the security of the airports and he's right. I have heard from many friends that had traveled inside states in the past and talked about too weak security measures in many airports. Such sad events can happen again, none can terminate this possibility for sure, at least put the responsibles to decrease it as much as possible.

So it is not even an entire country we are talking about let alone an entire religion.

Islam is not a small religion it's the fastest growing religion in the world #2 next to Christianity and Judaism and not all arabs and everybody are fucking terrorists. These countries are in war right now and have been for years.

                                                              Osama Bin Laden is a known terrorist for years this motherfucker is an outlaw living out in the deserts & jungles of Afghanistan and right now that whole area is in tears I mean these countries have been fighting eachother for years... You can't come out and blame the whole fucking nation for this when there is a group of terrorists that act on their own sole discretion which cannot be caught by anyone.. this is a very sad thing and yes I do agree whoever commited these crimes should be punished but right now they have no solid evidence on who ever did it They are getting information from other countries and the bullshit the media says but Osama Bin Laden denies the attacks, however I am not sure who is behind all of this... maybe when they get the black boxes and find out exactly what happened in the planes will they know who did it... maybe they already do know, and if it was Osama Bin Laden or whoever I hope they can get their ass... so don't blame all muslims, you are being very narrow minded.

                                                                          Religion has caused more deaths and wars than everything else combined. Such foolishness.                                                                               What alot of people seem to be overlooking is the fact that we are talking about WAR here.

                                                                              Bush made it very clear in no uncertain terms: "Those responsible and those that harbor them."

                                                                              It's not important what you "think" this means. Bombs and missiles don't hit individuals. War is bloody. It always has been and it always will be. People will die. This includes women, children, terrorists, dogs, cats, and anything else in its path. "Those that harbor them". If he's in Afghanistan, they'd be wise to find him and get him out pretty quick or face the wrath of the US war machine.

                                                                              I was a part of what we did in Iraq ten years ago, and I can tell you first hand... once the war machine starts, it cuts a very wide path and the only thing left in its wake is death. This isn't my editorialized opinion, it's a fact. People will die. Get used to it.

                                                                                  Not sure what you mean here -- when Israel is attacked they retaliate very quickly and with massive prejudice -- many times over reacting but that is their way, always has been.

                                                                                      Being stuck in Italy when America was getting attacked.

                                                                                      Spent 24 hours of our first day In beautiful Venice Italy in our Hotel watching CNN.

                                                                                      I cant believe i said I was glad bush was President at that moment. But damn I was pissed, and knew Bush and his cowboys were just the boys to smoke the fuckers out who did this to us on 9-11.

                                                                                      Now like many Americans I think we've all had enough.

                                                                                      But damn, that day was a fucking disturbing one.
                                                                                      The only news source at the time was GFY.. No news websites would load. They were all over loaded, and italy was in the dark when it came to info.
