    Fuck Satellite TV.

    I'm so mad at myself, I had cable and got talked into moving to Direct TV. Now I'm going on the 2nd week with no TV. I had a guy come out on Sunday and tell me I had to have a tree trimmed so I did that and had TV for about 24 hours then boom it's out again. So I have been on the phone with them and some one will be out to look at it tomorrow afternoon.



    The guy on the phone said "Well we can give you HBO and Showtime for free for 6 months for the inconvenience" Yea that's great and all but WTF 6 months of something free when the shit doesn't even work?


    I can't wait till January 20th that's the day we can move back to cable, cuz if we do it now I'll get charged a $200 cancellation fee.

      That sucks. However once it's up I would venture to say, you will love it. Directv has great customer service and will do whatever it takes to make you happy. Their weakness is that because they are national, they have to use independent contractors for installs and half the time those guys don't give a shit.

                          The cancellation fee is bullshit and wont stand up. Just ask directv about it.
                          Its a just a scare tactic. Especially if you used a reseller its specifies
                          in there contract that they can not charege a cancellation fee. If they charge your card just call visa or mc and they will remove it.

                                                      Time to get yourself a 170.00 viewsat xtreme satellite receiver that will receive all dishnetwork channels including pay per view and every single channel they carry, and if you hook up another dish, you can add bell expressview to the mix for about 1000 channels total on one receiver.

                                                      Did I mention there is no bill in the mail?

                                                      I have one in each room here, and a 30" motorized dish outside that picks up a few thousand channels from 6 satellites all over the world. When on doshnetwork or bell, it works and looks just like the legit systems you can buy and pay per month, but with these ones, there is no card inside and no channel is blocked. You have the full program guide and info and all that too.

                                                                              DirectTV just left here, we haven't had half of our channels for several days now either. Turned out the idiot resellers that installed it fucked it all up. They didn't put weather boots on the connectors and the damn things shorted out and corroded. So this guy had to replace everything......

                                                                              DirectTV has been good to me, but those resellers suck balls.

                                                                                          Yeah the resellers usually have to pay out of pocket for cable and connectors and they are suppose too use outside connectors, make drip loops and ground everything which they usually dont.

                                                                                                                          I've never had a problem with my DirecTV (knocks on wood). I personally have a tripod so I can move it around in different places if I have problems but haven't had any since switching to satellite. Hope you get your stuff fixed.
