What would your opinion of this friend be knowing that he KNEW Hogans kid was drunk and let him drive anyways?

The friend that got hurt is not without blame. He chose to get in the car knowing that Nick was drunk and liked to race. He is a victim, but a victim - in a way - by choice because he put himself in that situation. Still when you get behind the wheel you are responsible for the people in the car. We don't know all the facts that led to them getting in the car ( or at least I don't) so we can't full assess blame on any one person. But in the end Nick was driving, he has to take responsibility. The kid made a mistake for letting Nick drive. Nick made a bigger mistake for choosing to drive.
If he had hit a pedestrian and the pedestrian was killed he should have gotten a hell of a lot more than 8 months. I mean years, maybe decades. Drunk driving is 100% avoidable. If you choose to drink and drive and something goes wrong you should be punished harshly for it.
