    What sites shoot in HD?

    Other than solo girl sites I mean.

    I'm curious to see if any sites shoot hardcore scenes in HD (scenes that are a minimum length of 20 minutes).


    I've had alot of people approach me about it and I wanna know if anyone has done it yet?

          Yup, close enough.

          Mind talking about what kind of setup you have for editing it? HD space, how many computers? How powerful they are, etc?

          I'm curious to see if my estimates were correct

                                              We shoot with Sony FX1s, edit in 2 FCP5 bays and use RAID5 SATA systems.

                                              HDV is roughly 50Gb/hr, so it isn't too bad space wise, but speedy hardware is essential.

                                                  50gb captured or after encode? I get FX1 content captured at only about 10gb an hour.

                                                                          The capture sizes for HDV are roughly the same as DV due to the compression method changing from DV to MPEG-2 and the fact that when you go to tape, you automatically incur a 4:2:2 compression rate. If you record using a tapeless acquisition method (Edirol, Firestore, etc.), the sizes go through the roof. But unless you're going to celluloid, it's kind of a waste.

                                                                                  Apple G5 Quad - 8 gigs of ram. Final Cut Pro 5 for my NLE. Capture using the Apple Intermediate 1080i60 codec or the regular HDV1080i60 codec from a Sony HVRM10U DVR Deck.
