I've been turned off by the LOW percentage offered from VOD sites for my content too. I have followed pretty much the same path you have with c4s stores and my own network of sites. The only decent % split I've come across from a VOD site is watchme.com Here is a link to our profile there:

I have used them for almost 2 years now and draw my money out every month.
