    Sorry to the companies starting contest threads...

    I heard through the grape vine that my new FF extension has annoyed some who have made contest threads, it's taking away visibility.

    I'm sorry that you feel that way but quite frankly, the contest threads have out lived their usefulness (if they ever had any) and honestly, the affiliates you're trying to make the happiest are the ones most annoyed by it.

    Only contest whores who don't promote you nor post in any other actual discussions are taking part in the majority of these threads beyond page 1.

    I'd rather there were less of these threads, or a new medium was found. But since neither is the case, I feel no shame in giving people a way to deal with them in a quiet and peaceful manor. (which is way better than all the threads dedicated to how annoying they are)

    So again, sorry. But I can't take it back from people's browsers now that they have it, nor would I want to. You're all very clever marketers. I'm sure you'll find another way.

              Fuck contests. It promotes non industry shit on our board.

              No one worth a shit collects money from those contests. It's stupid they exist. I've been wanting to block these threads forever.

              LMK where I can paypal a donation for the extension to.

                  You know you don't really have to though. I'm just glad that people are finding it useful.

                  And I can understand how and why everyone hates those threads but I also understand why the programs do them. And I never want to cut into anyone's income (even those who've really hated me on this forum).... but at this point, I think enough is enough.

                                  Personally feel that anyone who blocks main ads in any way (sigs do not count) needs a banning anyways.

                                  As for the contests though I also agree that they need to stop as they just encourage non industry whores after a few bucks. Rarely do you see anything unique in them that a post whore can not accomplish. Though I do know that it is an easy way to keep a thread up high for a cheap price (only works with a good title though to give exposure).

                                              Yes, I've been asked to include options to remove the ads.... I've decided no for 2 reasons.

                                              1. There's already extensions that do this better than I ever could anyway.
                                              2. I think the boards are entitled to their ads. Without them, there would be no board. And as I said in my opening post, I'm not out to mess with people's incomes. On this or any board, the ads are why the board was created... it's all well and good to share a community but the real reason it was made was to make $$.
