    Hybrid Cars

Anyone have one? Or an alternative fuel car?

I see a chick at the grocery store who runs her car on veggie oil. I think that'd be cool.

Either way, my next car is going to be a hybrid ... at $3/gallon it has to be.

I'm looking at some, but they are all so new and kinda expensive. The new Lexus hybrid sure is pretty though.

I have been looking into getting one of the Honda Civic Hybrids. 49 mpg is just too hard to resist nowadays.

Yea those are cool. They run on whats called bio deisel. Bascially its recycled french fry oil and way better than desisel although it cost about the same if not more. I have a few friends that own hybrids and they love them. Most get about 35 to 40 miles per gallon.

I bought and sold one last summer when gas prices were high probably going to do it again, I bought a 2004 prius, I personally think its ugly and you dont actually get the 50 mpg it says, you end up averaging around like 32 beleive it or not. Its a VERY quite car I also notice when you came to a stop and it switch to the electric motor it was sometimes rough switching over kinda scared me but never died or anything like that.

You can make biodiesel for like $00.30 a gallon tops if you get the used oil. You can even make most of the processing equipment yourself. Its a fairly easy process and you only need a couple type of chemicals.

The one thing you guys need to realize about hyrbids is that after so many miles you will need to replace the batteries and sometimes those might cost enough to have just paid for all the gas you just saved lol. Alot of times you will just come out even.
