I'm aware of the differences personally, which I think were inconsequential if you look at the two as different mediums...

and a lot of people I'm referring to don't know anything about the books. They're basing their opinions strictly on the movie.

Many people dislike Keanu... then there are some who just don't like Keanu because they're told to not like Keanu by their peers...

and as a result, they end up hating any movie that Keanu does just because he's in it.

I loved it, of course its going to have cheesy parts and brutal monologues by Keanu, but big deal... Plus I always enjoy movies about catholicism, exorcism, etc...

John Constantine has blonde hair, chain smokes and has a wonderful british attitude ;)

I didn't mind the movie, thought it was okay, but I agree with the others in here who say the comic is a thousand times better. More meat, more substance, and honestly I think if they'd captured more of Constantine's comic character then it would've worked a lot better.

Keanu is almost too 'clean/pretty' for that role in a way. Didn't quite capture the hardness of the character imo.

I thought the visuals were great but the movie was slightly cheesey. Like the "god gun" and the "god brass knuckels," those were stupid. I actually started laughing out-loud when he pulled those out.
