It hit me how in danger he was when posting the pictures of his leg, he called someone who had mentioned that they weighed about 300 lbs a lightweight.

This is sad, I'm surprised I missed these threads.

sad news, not sure what to say. When I saw the pic of his leg I thought to msg him and tell him goto urgently to a hospital which I didnt. From that thread I got the impression it was under control situation from his posts. Today is great friday for orthodox church, the day christ died.

i've been upset about this since i read the news here about bjjb's passing.
now that i found out he was a single guy i wish i had known a webmaster who was close to him to urge bjjb more to call a doc or get to the ER.

statistics show unmarried men have shorter lives - think cases like this are the reason why - a wife or adult children would have insisted he go or taken matters into their own hands.

he was over 300 pounds? he didn't look that large in the webcam photo that was posted.

ugh - death is so final.

That wasn't the problem Mutt. He was told by lotsa people everyday to visit the doctor but he just didnt want too. I think he had his reasons for that. Have a look at his website and read what other people say about him. He was a real Good guy :/

I sent some flowers. As much as I didn't think it would matter to me, getting flowers when my son died really really added a little happiness to a really sucky day. I hope they helped his family at least a little bit

I sent through the website DomP recommended - http://www.helensflowers.net/ I would ASSUME that in a small town and with the funeral just recently, they would know where to send them to someone's home. Just a guess though.

I didn't see this thread until now. Very sad news. I enjoyed his posts.

I also didn't see the pics of his leg but I will say that my husband's heart attack was very much connected to leg ulcers he had for years. In the end they did it.
