Just saw Fahrenheit 9/11 again

Probably the 3rd time its happened to be on Cinemax, HBO or one of those that I've just had it in the background while working.

It still manages to get me a little pissed off about the state of things..

The FACT is Saddam DID have WMD, although many were shipped out of Iraq and into Syria before the war.

He even used WMD against civilians in Halabja in 1988, and against Iran in the Iran-Iraq war, etc..

There was alot we didn't know about Saddam's capabilities. His regime cloaked alot of its programs.

The world is alot better off without Saddam.

WMD was only one of many many reasons to take him out.

I haven't seen the other film that was linked discrediting Moore. I know Moore can play games with stuff and turn words around. However, any film that boasts Ann Coulter taking a part in it, already loses all credibility.

Michael Moore is a fat sack of shit. I'm sure there's at least some truth to what he's presenting, and I certainly wouldn't discredit the entire movie. I just think he spins a bit too much himself to make a point. I'd rather he just deliver his investigation and conclusions and let me make up my own mind about it. The fact of the matter though is he does not.

You have to be objective about the whole thing. M.Moore made that doc. to make money, of course. With that in mind, you can't really take him at his word... no doubt it is derived from a version of the truth. But, his main agenda is making bank... not spreading the truth.

The one thing that gets me about conspiracy theories is this...

If we, the "minions" are capable of coming up with all of these great conspiracy theories and there are so many that share the same ideas...

why is it so impossible to fathum the thought that maybe the world leaders and their highly educated and highly paid staff wouldn't be able to come up with these particular ideas that we are speaking of in advance and make them a reality?

Conspiracy theories usually do have some substance or reason behind them... I think that the people running countries could potentially have the ability to come up with master plots like 9/11 and certainly have the ablity to put it in motion. Only thing I see as a fuckup is their inability to cover it up properly and now they are all running in circles. Should have looked at all of the potentials before they proceeded... would have made the conspiracy theorists seem alot less credible...oh well...tsk..tsk... learn for next time.

Saddam, WMD....good one! the man was captured in a hole in the ground... this is definitely someone we should consider as a threat to humanity.

That was Cinemax, channel 16 on Cable Tica, in the afternoon. Was watching it in the background too. Of course it's riddled with holes and some spin of its own, but a few of the points can be backed up with facts and are too egregious to ignore.

The one thing I took away from that movie is the mother of the soldier who was killed.

While I wouldn't wish that on anyone, it was SHE who suggested to her son that the best thing for her son to do was to enlist, because she couldn't provide him with some of the things the military could. In fact, she was in a position to suggest to MANY that the military was a viable option.

Then when her son was killed, it was someone else's fault. What about the other people who enlisted on her advice and were subsequently killed? Does she take responsibility for that?

They made the army recruiters out to be very predatory in that movie, and perhaps they are. But if she's suggesting it to people who will listen to her, is she any different? Moore raises some interesting points, but also edits his movies to put the absolute best spin to get HIS point across.

More and more lately I'm getting the impression that those who join the military believe they have every right to all of the benefits that the military provides, but can pick and choose when and where they want to go to war. If you're not prepared to go when you're ordered to...because you ARE being paid, simply don't enlist.
