I love that stuff. You can buy the pre-made mixes at the mexican stores, add some everclear and one of the best drinks when you are suffering through 122 degrees F.

Is there another name for horchata? When I was down in Mexico, there was a rice based drink, thick and white (haha insert jokes here), that they made with a little sugar and cinammon, and it was AWESOME. But it was called something else. Any ideas?

chufas, the original. lovely stuff. Not sure about rice based though.
I get horchata sorbet lovely in summer.
They also do an almond one thats pretty good but very rich.

It is a great drink, specially for summer, very refreshing and healthy, made from chufas, very popular in the East coast of Spain, specially Valencia is famous for it.
