    Coolest youth hostel you have stayed at!

    Okay, for those of us that hate hotels, give me your list of the coolest, most fun youth hostels you have stayed at.

    Mine are:

    1. Hotel My Home (Amsterdam): I have literally spent about six weeks in this hostel over the last three years. Very cozy, small dorms and very cool staff.

    2. Kabul Youth hostel (Barcelona): This place is legenday. Right near La Rambla. I planned on staying two nights and ended up staying eight nights. The party simply wouldn't leave. Beer vending machines are a bonus.

    3. Yoho International Youth hostel (Salzburg): You can see Salzburg in a day but you need to stay longer just to party properly at this hostel. A fantastic bar with cheap beer means you can get wasted for less! My last memory at this hostel when i was there in 1998 was dancing on the table with a beer stein full of Scotch. Everything else is a blank.

      When I was really young, I was one in Germany somewhere.. was in a castle. Was pretty mint back then!

          Shit, Joe. Maybe you're alright after all. I stayed at the Kabul (Barcelona) for 3 months about 10 years ago. Awesome place. I was lucky and only had one roomate (actually he was an Aussie). When were you there?

          I also had a great time at Faulty Towers in Eilat, Israel, and Hotel Kabul in A'dam.

                  some hostel in Ottawa. it's in an old prison, and you sleep in the cells. it's the prison where canada's last public execution took place, and you get tours of the gallows and death row.

                  they used to rent out the death row cells, but people said they were haunted. you can see all the stuff carved in to the walls by former inmates.

                  pretty fucking cool.

                      I was there in December 2001.

                      If they didn't have such an early checkout (10am or 11am) I may have left earlier. I never got to bed before 6am.

                      God bless the Kabul youth hostel.

                                  I don't know if it was the coolest but we definetely partied the hardest a Baumers in Switzerland. I found these crazy Australian guys who had the best weed I have ever had. Then my best bud and I hooked up with these two Sweedish chicks and kept the whole place up all night. You know when you smoke too much and can't drop your load. I think I have a permanent scar on my back from that chick.
