I have been looking at TV's as the price has real come down on them. What kind of TV have any of you got in the last year? I'm not sure what's the best so help me out please.
Who has a new TV?

My Samsung 50 inch DLP has been pretty nice to me so far, and I only paid 1000 bucks for it. I wish I had got the 1080p instead of 720p. Blu Rays look great on mine, but I'm wishing I went for the higher res.

I saw somewhere this past week that had the 61'' model with 1080p for $1399.Comment

I'll probably wait about 2 more months and go for the 1080p.
getting a Playstation3 has totally changed my resolution needs...TV watching is fine because no one broadcasts in 1080p, but games and Blu ray movies can take advantage of that extra depth.

Hmm? I always find myself irritated with your posts. This thread is a perfect example. I shall now see if GFY has an ignore feature.

Cheap way to get a 130" screen.....
The projectors are in native 640x480, but this is entirely watchable once interpolated to a higher res even though it's obviously not as good as getting a HD one.
I've had a Dell I bought for business purposes years ago which is native 800x600 and I never considered using it for watching movies when i firt got it because it was too "cheap" at $1000 (3 years ago i think?). One day I was testing something and put a movie on and holy shit, If it wasn't entirely watchable... I was sort of annoyed I listened to all the wanker audio/videophiles about needing a 3-5k projector before you'd bother. I've used it ever since... works a treat.. got a 2.5m screen
. I don't think I would have got a 5x better experience buying a purpose made 5k one... maybe 1.5x so not really worth it.
I don't have a normal tv any more. I only watch movies and particularly good tv series on this.Last edited by bhutocracy; 04-22-2008, 01:57 AM.Comment
