There is no reason one party should be allowed control over the content more than the other... period... it's bullshit.
Photographer did a service; model did a service; to make a product that belongs to both.
Shit like this is why whenever we shoot we will have an addendum for agreement basically stating what the content can be used for, how it can be transferred if at all, what both parties are entitled to etc. I refuse to do a content trade without a copy of the RAW files in one form or another. I've done it as a model and as a shooter and that's the only fair way to do it. Though protecting the content is an issue as well of course, but that's why a written agreement is always a good thing.
I see models getting fucked all the time, spending hours at a studio only to get a CD weeks later with lo-res photos and a huge Donny Long style watermark for their "Trade" contribution.
