Good luck. I know quite a few people who smoke. After a couple days your lungs will begin to clear. Your lungs will hurt, and you will be hocking up all kinds of stuff. However, in time your lungs will begin to turn perfectly fine. They will turn their original color, as well. The sooner you quit, the sooner you will begin to feel better. Hang out around your family. You mentioned you saw them and didn't smoke anything. I notice most of my friends whom smoke will smoke less often when they're around their family. Also, I would slack down on the drinking while you're quitting. Most will try to quit, get a beer in them, and then reach for a cigarette. "Fuck it, I'll quit tomorrow". Oh, and seeing as how you smoke outside, you should have quit in the winter months. That way you won't want to walk outside for a smoke. It will be way too cold.
