Wordpress and Wp=O=Matic: server set cron jobs don't work.

Ive already posted this also at the wp forums but usually there only comes a reaction when someone else has the same problem 6 months later. So that's why im posting this here.

When i set the cron job for wp-o-matic in my direct admin, it doesn't work. I set it again to run every 5 minutes; a while later it still hasn't even run 1 time. When i run the cron.php in a browser it works perfectly fine. I can see this works by looking at the log file of wp-o-matic.
When i run the cron in my browser, it says:
    04/17 10:17:44 ? Running cron job
When i run the cron every 5 minutes from my server it doesn't log anything so it doesn't run the cron. How is this possible? What do i do? Other cron jobs ive set for other scripts on my server all run without any problems except for the wp-o-matic one.
This plugin is really causing me headaches..

I am not he best with wordpress, but I am wondering... does this wp-o-matic have permission to run crons? what is it chmoded to? can you look at the code that makes up this plugin? see anything in the script that looks like it might not run due to fuckup in the coding?

nico-t - Unless you have a wp-o-matic update that we don't have, the cron doesn't 'work' normally. In fact, it will tell you that the next update is in about about XXX days. He's supposed to have fixed the issues and will be releasing RC3 in the "next few days" is what he said on his blog on devthought.com last week.

I'd suggest you to try FeedWordPrees instead of buggy Wp-O-Matic. The slightly improved version of FeedWordPrees with anti-double-post algorithm could be found here: http://www.cyberseo.net/downloads.html

aha... thanks for the info. But still, when i can call the cron from a browser it runs but the same file wont run from a server side cronjob.... its exactly the same task... anyways, i will keep an eye on his blog, i havent cecked it since a couple of weeks

i want to see i can get wp-o-matic to run correctly, i figured most of it out now and i like the rewrite feature of it. Ill also check out feedwordpress, does the modified one on your site also has a rewrite feature?
