    Why would there be a 2 WEEK HOLD on a check???

    they cleared first 100 bucks , why would it be held up till May 1?

    If its over 5$ my bank puts a 11 day hold on it. They clear a small amount right away and then another bigger amount in 3 days and the rest in 11 days

      here in sweden the fuckers hold for 4 weeks, ive switched to wire or epass for all my sponsors and im very happy with that.

        they can do it if they want....usually your bank knows you a bit and they dont though....the tellers here all know me...i make sure im super friendly happy guy at the bank

              cuz they suck a big fat one. in those situations, i'll take the check to the issuers bank and pop it. no one holds my money for 14 days.

                          Are you a regular? Have a chat with your manager.

                          I've gone from paying $AUD35 per cheque with 5-6 weeks clearance (since USD is a foreign currency here) to $AUD15 for an unlimited number of cheques in the same deposit, converted and cleared on the spot - even if it's several thousand dollars. It took a year or two to get there but you can't really do much better than that.
