    Best German Bank?

Can anyone from Germany recommend the best german bank on interest rates for euro deposits? Needs to be a solid bank with a worldwide reputation in these torrid times....

Depends on the amount you deposit there. I can do some research for you, let me know how much you want to deposit? Btw. why don't you deposit the money in the Swiss, Austria or Lichtenstein?

Sparkasse usually has the worst conditions for deposits, but there may be exceptions.

I can recommend you Dresdner Bank, they offer a "Geldmarktkonto" which comes with 3.75% and you´ll get another 1.25% if Germany will win the European soccer championships.

Deutsche Bank has some good offers for business clients, but the amounts usually have to be higher volume.

Volksbanken & Raiffeisenbanken have some promotional offers for new clients, but you can´t withdraw your money within a specific time period, at least three month. So the latter won´t help you, I´m afraid.

diba.de has some nice offers, but they are an Online Bank only and you can open an account as a German resident only, I´m afraid.

Taken from their terms and conditions:

                          "Bitte beachten Sie folgende Voraussetzungen:

                          * Sie sind mindestens 18 Jahre alt
                          * Ihr Wohnsitz ist in Deutschland"
