It's very common practice for them to 'ask' for confirmation of where the funds are coming from & that it's NOT money laundering. It's due diligence and they have to do it or go through hassles with legal departments and what not.
Even if you've signed documents with info on what you do/income and all the other stuff - they still can/will ask you if incoming deposits are higher or become more frequent. Sometimes, changing banks will just cause you more of a headache.
1) A letter from your sponsor/s explaining that payments from them are for products that you've marketed and sold.
2) that it's not a fixed amount - hence the wires/checks varying in amounts
3) There's no contract/guarantee/or obligation for you to continue marketing the said products. (which means that next week it could be sponsor ABC that's sending you a wire)
All with contact details on company letterhead and the title/info of the person to contact should they have additional questions.
It may also be worth pointing out that you signed a form already - tho a "source of funds" form is usually needed for each instance over $10K since each sender will presumably be different and have varying values.
Each intsance of 10k in cash and each instance of 100k in total deposit for a day is when you have to sign a form thou I have even done a 100k+ transaction recently without being questioned cause it was draft going to a trust account maybe. Never heard wires or checks being problems they both can be easily traced back to source so maybe the branch you're dealing with jumping the gun

Got ya seven!
There are no problems with "paper movements" like checks or bankers drafts, it's more the "source of funds" the bank is obliged to know and this usually arises from wire transfers. Wires can go thru intermediaries and it's basically quicker to clear it up at the recipient end.
BTW... All banks, in different jurisdictions, have been pretty much the same. They are obliged to follow the rules laid down by the relevant banking regulator - who in turn, follows the international banking guidelines etc (and OCED crap). I used to drink with the banking regulator in one jurisdiction and got the overall lowdown from him - least as it was at that time.
The bank where I ended up getting a "money movement permit" from the regulatory authority are actually very good and cooperative on eveything ever asked of em - it's not their "fault" as such. (Anyways the bank manager is kinda cute and she never says "no" - least to banking stuff )
Some of you aren't up to date on the post 9/11 banking policy changes.
I think some people would be shocked to know, that most banks don't even have to notify you, if they think something is suspicious, that they are supposed to notify the Federal govt. about it.
It is imperative if you are very successful and dealing in large amounts of income that you establish a solid business relationship with your banker and be on a first name basis and clearly explain your business and the fact that you get a lot of large wires and checks for deposit.
If you don't know you're banker, or the branch VP, you are only asking for the inevitable inquiries one day because in this industry many do deal in large bank wires and from all over the world.
The best thing to do is deal with a regional size bank where they have tremendously superior policy of knowing their customers. In these smaller mid-size banks you can build a relationship much better and then they will know everything you do is completely legal and kosher and you won't have any problems.
I don't recommend banking with the major money center banks or very small banks. Unless you are huge, the big banks just won't give you that level of interaction with any execs of importantce and the small banks are just not well equiped to have comfort with huge depositer types.
