    How would you feel if your gf/wife earns a lot more than you?

    How would you feel if your gf or wife outearns you and makes a lot more than you? For example if you made 30k a yr and your gf/wife makes around 150k (NOT as a model, content, but she's self employed running her own business ).

    Imagine she only works a few hours a day, some days none at all, basically whenever she feels like, so she has a very low-stress job, so it's not like she even has to work a lot. And she works from home so doesn't need to commute.

    Would you feel any less of a man?
    Or would you leave her because you would feel intimidated by her
    being the breadwinner and making more than you?
    Or would you be happy and proud to be with someone successful?
    Or would you not care as long as she was hot and the relationship good?

    How would you feel?

                                  I know some couples that keep separate bank accounts and that's where I could see it becoming a problem.

                                  Personally, we share a bank account ... so if I strike it rich tonight in the Powerball, I'm pretty sure Chris won't mind. : )

                                                                  It would be fine with me. Shes starting to do pretty good with the real estate and may do 6 figures this year... I make well into 6 figures but if she catches up and passes me it wont bother me at all, we have a very secure relationship and have alot of fun together, more money just means more stuff to do and have more fun.

                                                                                          My gf and I have switched positions in this scenario many times over the years, and have learned to balance it well.

                                                                                          Example, she gets a great contract, or position, making more money, I have more resources to put into my businesses and fun. I get a better contract, or better position, then she scales back and looks for something better, and we use extra money again for another business or project.

You are really fucking shallow, if you grow up maybe you can join the real men in the 21 century. Maybe you have shot penis syndrome.

So, in your thinking I was less of a man most of my marriage because of this? WOW ? cavemen do still exist. Moreover, do not benchmark income as power ? measure wealth. It is not what you make, what you keep. Wealth is always more powerful than income.

                                                                                                  It kills me all the threads on GFY that state something to the effect, ?if you were a millionaire, what car would you drive?? Then people post pictures of expensive cars and other expensive toys. For the same reason, these people will likely never be millionaires (which is it not that hard to accomplish) because they spend money on expensive trinkets. Instead of spending 100K on a hot ride, spend 25K. Put the 75K down on rental property. You should be able to leverage about 400K on 75K investment; therefore, you can purchase a 475K income producing property. Rent the property and let other pay the mortgage. You will also get a paper loss on the property, which you can offset your portfolio (passive) income. Note: Active with limitations. Do this a few times over, you will have a million dollars within a several years. Getting back to my point, you income might not be ?high earning? but your wealth will be outstanding. It is not what you make, but what you keep.

                                                                                                  It is amazing to me how many people in this biz make so much money, but really have so little. This biz is ever changing, high earners today probably will not continue to make high income the rest of their carriers in this biz.                                                                                                                                                                                                       I like the fact that both of us bring income into the house, regardless of the balance or lack of balance in numbers....

                                                                                                                                                                                                      That way, if something happens, there is always money coming in.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      He is in school right now, recertifying....so I'm the major breadwinner...it pays the bills and he's fine with that....

                                                                                                                                                                                                      A true relationship doesn't care much for other people's perceptions...and doesn't let ego get in the way....
