that's what I was kind of wondering... it says he spent 2000 hours creating this. It's complex and realistic, but not really 'photo realistic' by any means; it's a nice illustration but doesn't really seem to be approaching 'fine art' in any traditional sense; I wonder if this was just a practice piece of some sort that grew very complex.
