    Is it ok to seed trailers/promotion video clips on the torrent networks?

              One of the marketing seminars at the Phoenix Forum specifically mentioned this.
              If you give away a good trailer or a short feature and kept your domain either at start or end, or unobtrusive and then put it out there on the networks it would probably be swopped as long as it wasn't obvious and crappy spam ie; you're actually giving away something as an incentive to watch it.
              They suggested getting a cheap server and cheap bandwidth and putting it on there and just leaving, was also suggested if you DRM the video you would be able to track how many people have seen it by the amount of keys collected (potentially through this you could also collect email addresses for a mailing list or to send video/photos direct although I can forsee some spam issues there).

              We're going to try it in the next few weeks - as much for branding your product as an immediate result.
