You are out in town and you ate or drank something that has left you with a bit of garbage (packaging, etc). You don't see a trash can around. Do you put it in your pocket until you find an appropriate place or do you throw it on the ground?

Pocket and I am a little weird about it in that even people with me have to wait to find a garbage can. I have picked up stuff they have thrown and then find a place for it.... yeah I know.

I am also a pocket person...for various safety reasons trash bins are hard to find around London. I always have a pocket full of rubbish waiting to be thrown. I just got back from shopping and was amazed at number of people that have no problem throwing stuff to the ground and just walking away.Comment

The stack of garbage in the front passenger side of my car testifies to the fact that I'll put something in my car rather than litter. If I'm just walking though, like out somewhere I guess, most of my clothes don't have pockets, so depends what it is I'd expect. It doesn't really come up often.Comment

I never litter my trash, i simply put it inside my pocket or keep it inside my bag then will throw it at home. My mom sometimes even saw those garbages in my bag and will asked, "where did these thrashes come from?". lol

Throwing trash on the ground is just plain ignorant. I'll be the first to admit I've been guilty of such in the past. I've also had trash (usually packaging and plastic) inadvertently end up flying out onto the street given that I drive a convertible.
I will look around for an adequate place to dispose of trash after eating or drinking something. It's simply common sense -- if you drop it on the ground someone will have to pick it up eventually.
