Both clear and green bottles allow certain wavelengths of sunlight to pass through that turn the hop oils in the beverage and skunk the beer.
Brown and opaque bottles, on the other hand, do not allow those wavelengths to pass through.
Every brewer/brewery knows this fact... if a beer comes in a clear or green bottle, it generally means that the company places the value of marketing (after all, clear and green bottles look "cool") over the quality of their product.
That's why, to this day, I think whatever exec at Corona said "let's put a lime in our beer" was a genius... he offered a solution that both gave the beer a gimmick, and covered the usually inherant skunky taste that the beer had due to transport.
A little sidefact for ya: In Holland, domestically, Heineken come in brown bottles. They only put their exports in the green.
