    Computer prices just a-droppin'!!!

    I can't believe how powerful but how cheap computers are nowadays.

    Geez, I remember the days when you had to hock a kid and take out a second mortgage or somethin'.

    Now you make enough in a day or a few hours to buy some top of the line stuff.

    If you build your systems you end up paying less than what you would for a dinner of four at a star rated restaurant!

              I think part of that is due to the rate of performance increase dropping. Several years ago a 1.5 year old computer was almost certainly outdated and there was probably something new out running several times faster; however lately processor speeds haven't been improving very much

                      Dude, they are like throwing computers at us.

                      Dude was right about performance. They're so powerful now the average person doesn't need anything but email and web surfing. Only crazy gamers need the pimped out shit out now.

                      AOL is announcing a new television/web thingie. You can watch tv shows old and new. As usual I will wait several months with this new AOL stuff until the 'oh, we didn't know there was a security bug' thing happens.

                      That's where the future is going, interactive entertainment via puter. I saw the experimental holographic stuff a while back but don't know how far it's advanced. Googles that make the screen 3D and/or movie screen size.

                      I can't wait to see what's happening in Japan.

                          My desktop is 3.5 years old, laptop is 2.5 and they are both running great. Only thing I have updated is my desktop video card for games. Gotta love where hardware is right now and the past year.

                              You can say that again!

                              I had problems with my Toshiba Qosmio. The technician told me to wait to buy another one as the hardware is about as badass as it can get for another few years. Even then, this system is so strong and loaded for bear the only thing it doesn't do is make breakfast.

                              If I wait another 7 months I can buy the same laptop for a major discount. And still buy or build a monster desktop for bigger animation files. Truly remarkable.
