Anyone here ever or currently own a Countach?

I have talked to some owners on the Lambo boards, but they are all rabidly biased.Even if they own a POS..they will say it's the finest car ever.
I am interested in hearing from people who have real experience with one.
There is a local fellow that is trying to get me to become a multi-lambo owner and buy his.

This is not the actual car,but it's almost identical to the local car.

There are a few Countach's around here. I have wanted one since I was a child so I think my next toy will either be a Countach or an LM002.

if I'm not mistaken the last year or two they were in production they were made to much higher standards (in terms of reliability) than previous years.

i've gotten a ride in one b4 ... nothing too special when it comes to lambos, the lines are a little to radical for me, I prefer vintage 2000 diablos

I did see it.But they really don't ever say anything good about Lambo.
Ferrari could role out the next edsel and those guys would fall all over it.

                                      I wouldn't plan on doing a lot of miles on one.It's nearly a 20 year old car now.An '88 LP500

I remember sitting in a Countach as a kid and falling in love with them. Apparently they are very difficult cars to drive. Heavy clutches, no power steering (although this may have changed for the 25th anniversary edition) visibility is from the rear is almost non existant. But these are all the things that make 80's supercars unique. Would be an awesome weekend car! And the sound of that V12 is unlike any new model Lambo's!

You are right on all points.Along with the very tight clutch/brake area(I made the mistake of wearing regular shoes when I test drove it and actually had to drive it in stocking feet,i wear 10 1/2 and they didn't fit!)..it's probably one of the most impractical but best sounding cars ever built.
I think that's the main reason I'm considering one.

The Countach is much more of an intimidating car to drive. It feels slow off the line.I didn't really start feeling the power until the car got up to 4k rpms.
But then hang on.It really sets you back in the seat.Handling felt loose compared to the Gallardo.
The Countach would lose badly to the Gallardo in any competition. But considering the age difference the Countach was very much ahead of it's time.
