    lightspeed ? yahoo serp results

Just curious if you guys have a deal with an outside company to sell your link on yahoo..

I notice yahoo is selling more and more of their results to outside traffic brokers.

doing this search on yahoo for "best porn site"
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=bes...ab-web-t&x=wrt

I find #32 is www.lightspeedworld.com but the link doesnt point to lightspeedworld it points to wildlinecorp.com ( if you dont know about them do a gfy search )

    rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0Je5riDJzNE.cEAS5xXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE3Z3BwMGR 0BGNvbG8DdwRsA1dTMQRwb3MDMzIEc2VjA3NyBHZ0aWQDWVM4M V83Mg--/SIG=1ao1cnr5t/EXP=1144289539/**http%3a//rdre1.yahoo.com/click%3fu=http%3a//www.wildlinecorp.com/app/kk.php%253Fs%253D97533,sk%253D556$b%253D755%26y=04 49A7D97A11DD3FCF%26i=482%26c=17538%26q=02%255ESSHP M%255BL7%257Dzlk%253Fopmq%253Flvkz6%26e=utf-8%26r=31%26d=wow%7eYS81-en-us%26n=3P54G7H12SPK9O72%26s=3%26t=%26m=44332783%26 x=05A2A8F8E914A1F72D8A96708A98D76CB1

From what i understand they are only allowed to buy those links if they have permission from you to do so ( because essentially they are stealing your serp and selling it back to you otherwise )

I notice more and more of the results are paid inclusions ( some arent even pay porn sites ) in the regular search ( i found a dozen out of 100 links for a fairly broad search term ). not sure why yahoo would shoot itself in the foot like that..

the fact it doesnt link to lightspeedworld it links to wildlinecorp that then adds its own ref code and sends them to lightspeedworld

so lets say wildlinecorp gets hacked or the server goes down. then people cant access lightspeedworld thru the yahoo link that clearly says www.lightspeedworld.com , or if the server is slow it would appear to be indicitave of the service one might recieve at lightspeedworld , even though the server problems might be with wildline.

According to Wildline's website those companies pay them to handle their SE campaigns.

they say that because thats part of their contract with yahoo ( i believe ) the question is if they are actually doing that or not..

Its been proven on gfy many times in the past that wildline didnt get approval first. so im just curious..

I believe with Yahoo's recent update to their TM policy, they need documentation to use TM'd terms. But I figure most companies would cave easily. I'm more curious as to what it takes to get into their Private Inclusion program. I'm more than eager to throw Yahoo some money as well

I recently signed a declaration of sorts stating that Wildline was providing Yahoo traffic to us; at Yahoo's request. They're top notch in my book.

All it means is you signed over the right for them to hijack your listings in the SERPs.

We do indeed have an agreement with Wildline Corp to manage our Yahoo campaigns, and they have done a wonderful job in my opinion.

thanks curious minds wanted to know..

What exactly do they do.. ? from the looks of it they just replace your exisiting serp with their ref code..

Another thread on gfy started by a program owner noticed their se traffic vanished overnight , and knew nothing about wildlinecorp

To me it appears like what they do is kind of trick program owners into thinking they have found some "undiscovered traffic" , when infact they are just routing exisiting traffic that was already going to you through them instead of thru no ref code.

But i could be totally wrong , im just saying what it appears to me like..

The only other benefit i can see is that they might also be taking ref links in the serps from other webmasters , like before an affiliate might have had that link and now it goes straight to you guys thru wildline , so they are kind of taking serps from other webmasters to do this..

The problem i see with this is , they arent actively promoting you , they are kind of piggybacking on the work other webmasters do to get your links high in the serps, if webmasters ref links are no longer in the serps , they will find other sponsors to promote or no longer push their links directly to you ( thus your losing out on their traffic ) , eventually those serps will fall because webmasters arent getting their own serps for pushing your links

example.. seo people drop links to sponsors in lots of spots with specific keywords in order to get a high serp with their ref code for your link. If they are no longer getting high serps with their ref codes, they wont push the links directly to you they will hide the links , thus your serps will drop because seo people wont be getting benefit from the way the linking works..

                              just my :2cents: though

Smokey I'm 99% sure you are right. I'm actually closer to 100% but I wanted to leave some room on the off chance we're wrong. Either Wildline duped these site owners into thinking they are doing something magical, has a shitload of other traffic they throw in to justify stealing SE hits (sex.com is wildline), or there is something fishy going on that even program owners don't want us to know about.

I started a thread about this awhile back as it seemed Yahoo was "selling" the top spots to Wildline and another company. Though it wasn't clear if they were actually selling the top spot - if so, it's very misleading to the surfer as the links are not shown as being "sponsored".

well i think the trick is in "also" gaining traffic from links that would normally have ref codes on them from the webmaster that has the most links to that sponsor.

so normally a search for "cum babes" might show http://www.cumfiesta.com/?id=webmaster now it shows www.cumfiesta.com but goes to wildline.

So a sponsor might be tricked into thinking he is getting alot more traffic than just what he was getting from the search engines.

Like a site like cumfiesta.com prob gets alot of no ref code signup from yahoo already so lets say thats 100 no ref signups a day , wildline steps in and suddenly produces 200 signups a day and their no ref signups vanish , so they are thinking , " im still 100 signups more than i was " , but what they arent considering is , those other 100 signups were already there , they were just from other affiliates ref codes that are no longer being shown.

So in essence they are just getting those 100 extra signups from a different affiliate and paying for the other 100 signups they were getting for free , and in the process will lower their serp's eventually because webmasters wont push links straight to a sponsor if they are getting some serp benefit from it.. its already happening.. seo's are making doorway pages instead of linking directly to sponsors to curb this practise.

and to add on top of that wildline does nothing to actually promote the site ( or as it appears anyways ) so they are relying on one big company on signups that doesnt actually promote them.. and gaining nothing in return but less of a cut..

It's a scam guys. I hate to break it to you, but all your doing is signing over your rights for them to hijack your listings in the SERPs. They then can use PFI on the domain and push it to another site. They have no special relationship with Yahoo!, it's simple site match. Yahoo! noticed companies doing this and wanted to stop it so they made companies like Wildline get permission to steal your listing. Apparently they found a smooth way of talking you into it. If there are any site owners who really don't know what they are doing, feel free to ICQ me and I'll tell you how you are being royally screwed.
