TECH PROBLEM: after reinstalling Spybot, my PC wouldn't access certain sites....

I can't access certain url's on my PC, www.7search.com for example.

This started after I reinstalled Spybot.

trying to solve this problem, I manually deleted the above url (7search.com) from Options> Restricted sites but it didn't help.

So I just totally deleted Spybot Search and Destroy from my machine, but it still doesn't help. I just can't access www.7search.com
    I don't use ICQ anymore.

Oldschool approach, but look for LSPFix.

Oddly enough, still does with 32 bit Vista, at least. Microsoft's Malware Remover doesn't always restore things after removing nasties.

Not sure on vista. Winxp: edit the file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
(replace c:\windows with whereever your winxp drive/dir is)
it's text, it's prob. stopped up in there.
