So, which is better? Password sentry, or pennywise? The license on PS looks a lot more reasonable to me. Features on both seem similar. Anyone have strong feelings?

Only one of the three seems to have a reasonable one-time price, rather than a monthly subscription. Makes it kindof appealing... Unless it isn't as good.

On one site, I use a combination of Pennywise and Sentry. Sentry works, Pennywise does not.

We use password sentry , the owner of ps is possibly the nicest most helpful guy on the net and we also use proxy pass.We had excellent results with both of them.I like using both I feel they compliment each other.Comment

The current update version, I have not tried yet, but it's been able to handle, password trading sites, etc etc with positive results...Comment

don't know anything about ProxyPass, Pennywise is total garbage and overpriced... we've used PW Sentry for a couple of years now, it does exactly what it claims to, and will catch rogue accounts for you, plain and simple... Dan (the script writer) is really cool and doesn't forget about you after making a sale; he has personally set up our Sentry installs each time a new build came out, and always answers email within a few hours at the latest. cant say enough good things, i'd have one of my wives go suck his dick if he wasn't so far away up there in canadia..!...promise her a defamation, tell her where the rain will fall..Comment

Choose one that does not give 403's to disable accounts
They will screw up all your aol customers and aol surfers that try to access you members area.
It is a fricken nightmare.
That's because aol uses servers gives ips that are shared with all there users so if it gives a 403 and blocks an AOL ip then a shit load of aol surfers will not be able to access you site.
We had to write our own custom brut forse protection.
