As a celeb it may be true he is trying to keep his name in the papers. In general though, I think a fair percentage of suicide attempts need to be taken seriously. I agree that if someone really wants to die, they can achieve it in single go. But the truth is a lot of people become so depressed that they feel death is the only way out (and a part of them really wants it), but at the same time they are afraid to carry it through completely. They end up stuck in a world of misery, and I don't think brushing them all off as attention whores really helps them get out of that, if anything it may well be the thing that convinces them to overcome the fear that made them hold back first time round.
