    HOLY Shit its great to be a GRINGO in Costa Rica

    Life is getting even better Its like all the women want you just cause your a Gringo you dont even need to have alot of money.
    So far I have met a few super hot Tica's which are local girls who want to have my babies.. Girls I would consider 8-10 on a hot scale.

                                      A lot cheaper than Sweden Nicky!

                                      Domestic labour is around $220/month for eg. a maid or gardner. There are no taxes applicable to money from net revenue. The healthcare system is pretty good and cheap as hell ($240/year for a family of four) and a choice of private healthcare as well.

                                      There are loads of "gringos" arriving so that is pressuring up home prices. New construction is up around 85% as of last year, but there are still good deals around if you "know" the real local market.

                                      BTW.. You don't necessarily technically "operate" from here - it's a place to live more than an operational base. The nearest obvious place to operate from is Panama (tho who says you have to go there?).

The culture (tho it may lack in other ways) is more family orientated than "civilized world" and all the people I've met here are OK and very helpful and genuine with it. (Tho there are idiots everywhere).

                                                                  The girls are very nice and polite - it appears to be the same with most folks here - and they are the same with each other. Suppose it's called "manners"

                                                                  I've had help on occasions from some weird sources and they turned out to be 100% genuine - and far more than I'd ever expect from "civilized world".

                                                                      Treat people right and you will be fine its the gringo's who think their shit dont stink and flaunt their money who get robbed etc.
                                                                      Dont look down on anyone treat people for who they are not what they have and they will except you with open arms.
                                                                      Treat the people here like shit and they will take advangtage of you.

                                                                      In the 2 weeks I've been here I've already seen alot. been down streets filled with crack heads with some locals not a place you want to be caught alone.

                                                                      I compare Costa rica to LA one minute your in beverly hills the next your in compton play it smart and make sure you are aware of your surroundings atg all times


                                                                      I've traveled the world and I have never had any problems respect others keep your eyes open all the time and many opportunities will open up.

I thought it was, but I know of a guy who is moving to Tampa because he is marrying a girl in Costa Rica, but he says it's too expensive for him to live there... this was confusing to me because I thought it was cheaper to live there.

                                                                                          It is cheaper than Florida aico. Another factor is... some areas like Escazu are not representative of Costa Rica - they are just "gringo world" moved here and where prices are more (simply cos they can be!).

                                                                                          These "gringo worlds" are really little different to eg Tampa and the "real Costa Rica" is nothing like that. Example.. buy a local beer in Escazu (gringo world) and chances are you will pay a $1, - buy the same brew outside and it costs .50 cents. The same examples can be applied across the board in stuff like food. (The irony is, outside these gringo towns, many folks have also have a much better lifestyle while paying less!)

San Jose may not have a Chinatown, but they definitely have an Americatown and that's the Escazu area. I live in the Heredia area and my 2-bedroom townhouse is $350/month. The thing is, a lot of things are cheaper (food, rent, a maid, health care, taxis, car maintenance, and most importantly, BOOZE -- which if you are a regular drinker, factors in a big way), and some things are more expensive (imported goods -- which include stuff from the US, Internet service, cars which cost like 75% more, gasoline being a little over $3/gallon -- but then again we're talking a country the size of WV). Strangely enough I pay a lot less for cellphone service here than I did in Canada.
