i can't see that having the pop of a wood board. might be ok for riding if you strictly cruise, but i doubt its any good for someone looking to do any tricks on it. you might as well just buy a longboard if that's your thing. not having a solid board makes it hard to replicate the same responsiveness. it's just not a structurally sound i guess you could say. prior makes a splitboard snowboard for backcountry touring, essentially it slits down the middle and your bidnings cli back onto them as skis, so you can skin like the skiers do. i was looking at getting one if i stayed in the mountains for a full season f riding this year, but i didn't get to this season. i questioned the responsiveness of the board, and a couple people i know have tried them, to which their response was that they still need some work done before they will be the same as a one piece board...
