Some designer do well on some projects and not so good on others - based on the job so hard to say. But I do have to give props where due. Some of your older design are still my favs and set the bar in some cases. Now all you have to do is learn how to drive that jet ski like you create.

I figure amp is entitled to a bit of arrogance... imo... 95% of the industry follows his lead by telling their designers to "do something that looks like this".... but I also think that good design is only a part of the puzzle - brand, cover model, text, etc. all are important and not necessarily areas a designer has control over.
