Is a mustang considerred a sports car?!

we don't really have anything like this in UK and I had to drive a long way the other day so I rented one to see what it was like. Really I didn't like it at all it was huge like driving a tractor or something and it didn't seem that fast.

Stick shift wouldha been a lot better but I am left wondering is a mustang really considerred a sports car?

i would never personally own one, but the late 80's early 90's LX model with a 5.0 was pretty fun to drive..

It's definetly a sports car. The base model is 210 HP, the GT model is 300 HP. 0-60 in 5.2 s and 1/4 mile in 13.8.

when you rent a mustang from a chain rental, chances are you are renting the ladies, or the "daddy bought for duaghter" models. They have V6 engines.

Those arent really mustangs.... I mean, they are, but they just have the body style of the mustang without any sportscar upgrades.

Oh shit, thats a pretty funny vision i get when i think about a foreigner coming to the states and renting a V6 mustang, then pulling up to a redlight next to another sprotscar, and the foreign guy thinks he's got a mustang, so hes got a good chance at beating this guy. Then the light turns green....

Not making fun of you, just thought that was funny.

all kidding aside...

the mustang gt or cobra oem models are the way to go if you want a sportscar mustang.

mustang certified special editon models built by roush and saleen.

or you can buy a gt model and send it off to steeda and customize it. How much it costs depends on what you want. You want a supercharger? that will cost you, but they will do it.

or you can buy a mustang and trick it out yourself.

I cant help it.... someone said mustang.....soooo.......

if i can ever get away from my computer, ive got a couple mods id like to make, but.

I dont drive my car much, but when i do... Im hauling ass. If you were in my backseat, youd probably put on your seat belt or want out, but I dont really "drive" my mustang when i have passengers.

you can fit passengers in that back seat?

this is how i ended up with my '05 F150 4x4: I ordered a 2005 Mustang GT. Put the deposit on it, waited on the build date and for the car to arrive. Dealership calls me, says your car is here. I get there, look at the car, sit in it, play with the fruity lights that change color on the instrument panel... then I said, how much is that truck over there? Never looked back.

Part of the definition of a sports car is a two-seater with rear-wheel drive. Which of course the Mustang is neither. So that makes it a muscle car... and a damn fine ride!

mustangs are like assholes. everybody has one.

i wouldnt call them a sports car, maybe a muscle car if you get a cobra or a GT. the problem is that ford makes soooo many versions unless your really into them you have to calss them all as shitty, because most of them are the low end versions. sad really. they should keep high end cars high end.

i never once saw a decent rustang driver, all cocky mothefuckers who think they go some sort of macleren f1

maybe thats what it was it didn't seem like it was doing 0-60 under 6 seconds and I couldn't get it to go over about 115 but maybe it had some kind of limiter on it
