Why make people scroll and hunt - they're horny and want in NOW!
Standard website design 101

I would assume that the focus of your site is to get members to join. That needs to be the most prominent course of action on the page The average user looks at the 8x6 area above the fold in this manor,
Top left corner, then they slide their eyes to a bit above center of the page. After that they will go to the most eye catching picture
I have done user studies for large e-commerce sites and this is what we have found. (look at hsn.com, qvc.com ogl.org) you will notice that their ?hot spot? is a bit above center and their logo is top left. You most expensive real-estate on your site are those two spots.
If I understand what a tour page is supposed to do I would make sure my logo was top left. This would make sure that the customer knows your name and if you logo is catchy enough for your target audience they wont forget it. Then I would have a join now button about 175-225px from the top and the same from the left. At the bottom right corner above the fold I would put a next image button. I would then dress the rest of the page around those three key items. The key to a good sales site is being able to push the potential customer where you want him to go with out them realizing your doing that.
