    Which sponsor can you just not convert?

    Pimproll. All time:

    1:5700

    And I promote at least a dozen of their sites in some form. Next worse sponsor has a ratio of 1:1500 all time so no one else even comes close. Maybe it is just me. I'm thinking it might have to do with most of their sites that I promote being rather vanilla whereas I have more experience converting fetish traffic.

    What's yours and do you have an explanation for it (other than shaving accusations unless you have proof as per the GFY rules)?

      I tried pretty much all their sites. There's one site of them that I'm at 1:9000 if I'm not mistaken.

                          I don't promote them, just never got around to it.. I made a mental note like I should get on that though, but 1:9000? wowzers.. I never seen anything even close to that bad

                              1:5000 is the norm these days for tgp traffic but Juggcash and Nastydollars are awesome programs and great general traffic converters.

                                  conversion is dependent on traffic source, period. If it weren't, then I would look at the stats every day and each individual affiliates conversion ratio would be within a small margin of error of the average conversion ratio.

                                  This is not the case. Some traffic converts 1:5 and some converts 1:5000 - all 100% because of the source of traffic.

                                  Traffic source can be broken into at least 2 levels. The first level being the general source (SE (organic, paid), TGP(galleries), exit consoles, etc). Then each of those sources is broken into each unique stream (ie the individual affiliate).

                                  An affilaites traffic stream is highly dependent on where THEIR traffic comes from. For example, two affiliates could be promoting the same site and both get alot of organic SE traffic.. but it might be for different keywords. Therefore, the conversion ratios are different.

                                  There is no way to disentangle all of the variables that affect conversion ratios on an hourly, daily or long-term time line. The fact that individual traffic streams display consistent behavior is in itself fascinating - especially if each traffic sample is highly unique (like say a site does 100k uniques per day.. and there's less than 30% common elements between daily sets.. yet the conversion ratios are within a small condifdence interval).

                                  What I'm trying to say is - the data speaks for itself. The only thing you can say from your bad conversion ratio with pimproll is that YOUR particular source of traffic does not perform well with their sites.. and you'll never know why. It's such a cop out to think it's the sponsor's "fault" (that's not completely directed at you.. but to every affilaite who assumes they have a god given right to a particular conversion ratio...)

                                      if you dont convert with a sponsor + your traffic, switch until you find 1 that does.

                                          Don't rule out preselling the site, and a good filter. If your ratios are too high and your income parallels, try to implement a presell and join form combination if that's possible with your sponsor.

                                                                      I want to throw a twist in there though, see if what I am thinking is along the right lines or not......

                                                                      I have an affiliate ( no names ) that promotes us on one of his TGPs, and we also have a paid spot in the top 10 on same TGP.

                                                                      Now, the ratios are:
                                                                      1:1849 for his referrals (main page, near mid/bottom, and archives)
                                                                      0:42000 for our topspot listing (main page, very top )

                                                                      Since both of these are being seen by the exact same traffic, in your opinion, what would cause the ratios to be so drastically different?

                                                                                                      Guys find niche recurring with exclusive content programs on Ccbill or Epoch and pound it. Watch the signs roll in. After a year or so of steady pushing of that site/s that gets joins you be getting paid for it years down the road... All these programs push the same type of content that is everywhere. People blame Tube sites but that's not really the problem with your "down swing" the problem is every site looks the same these days.... Think outside the box, never follow the crowd.
