10 year old parked domain that has had no external links pointing to it will not score better than a brand new domain all other things being equal.
10 year old domain (never been dropped) that has had links pointing at it ....ie: (spiders can find it) has CONSIDERABLE advantage over a brand new domain all other things being equal.
