Its very simple he was asked by the guy who controls this board to let it go take a break from it etc , he simple couldent control himself. Just like a little kid if you dont back up a warning you lose control.

I dont mind Will and read alot of his posts he can and does become obsessive on certian issues but mostly its for a good cause.
This site or board like it or not is a commercial enterprise and decision's good or bad are made around profit if you dont like move on.

I havent been in adult that long but I like Will because his posts do make a lot of sense and he always posts with a passion for what he stands for, but he sometimes dosent know when to back down and at the end of the day when the board mods say enough is enough, and you dont listen well then you can expect to get a ban and as Bake says the owners of the board have the final say on how they run this place

I support his cause, so indirectly him. He is better than a majority of gfy members, may be including myself.

I don't quite feel right addressing this as Will can't reply to it. But I wanted to respond to this.

Reread the original thread. He is the one who started to get nasty. His first post even stated things like "and I know I am violating a bro rule" and "So is it still 'on going' or is it just 'forget and move on' time."

My first response back to him was simply "If someone wants to discuss that they're more than welcome to contact me.". Not looking to be rude or nasty. Just a simple straight forward reply. I'm tired of having discussions here where random trolls jump into it with nonsense. However as I have stated many times I'm more than happy to discuss it with anyone.

Then he comes back with
All I had said was to contact me about. Not that he was an asshole or any of this other stuff.

Its at this point I put him on ignore.

He has been making comments about my companies a number of times over the past few months. He has a history of picking targets and making his crusade against them. What got him thinking we should be his next crusade I have no idea, but it was becoming quite obvious to me.

After I put him on ignore a few other people expressed interest in it so I decided to give a basic answer and if anyone wanted any more details to feel free to contact me. A few did and I discussed it with them.

Will then decides to keep going off in the thread about the same thing over and over again. His question was already answered at this point. However I don't reply to him as I don't see a point in fighting with him over it. I didn't attack him when he came in the thread. I simply pointed out to contact me about it.

Apparently I pissed Will of by putting him on ignore here on this board so I could avoid reading his constant repeating of the same thing and focus on the reason we started the thread, a special offer and getting feedback on the upcoming release of a major product in this industry.

This seemed to spur him to create a thread the next day anonymously calling me out about a charity donation being late. This was a mistake on our part. No question about it. I never denied that, I simply believed he was wrong how he went about it. I truly believe that if the original thread didn't happen this thread wouldn't have been created. He could have ICQ'd me, but because he was angry he decided to make a threating thread here about it. This seems spiteful to me. This is a donation, and again, we dropped the ball on being late with it, but it is still something that shouldn't be used to create drama here because he was aggravated in a thread the day before.

Now this new thread continues to go on and on. Eric warned him multiple times to just resolve the issue and move on. He refused to do so. Even creating more threads about the entire situation after the fact.

Again, I feel a bit odd posting this with Will not here and Eric if you'd like to unban him I have no objection to it at all. However, I do feel that Will was the one out of line here. He has made a pattern of making off base comments about my companies the past few months, he jumped into a thread here with something that could have been handled separately or even privately, and he continued to carry on about it after several warnings from the person who runs this board. And believe me, Eric warned me to not go back at him also, several times, and I didn't. He wasn't playing favors, he was being fair across the board.

Will was the one who was wrong here, not myself. The only thing I was wrong on was dropping the ball with the timeliness of the donation to WMTR, which I have never denied.

Also, while speaking about Eric. We haven't bought advertising here in a long time. He isn't playing favors to someone buying ads. Those calling into question his integrity over that are way way off.

Thanks for that summary. I totally appreciate that you want to defend your company and honor and shouldn't be subject to constant attacks. I wasn't aware of all the history...although I still can't agree with him being banned over discussing a business issue that is current and relevant to many.

It didn't take 8 months to pay. It took a few months to finally pick a winner, and then the ball was dropped on getting the check out. There were never any ill intentions or "lies" about it as he accused me of. It doesn't matter if the post named us or not. It was the intent of the post. It came from his being pissed off as was explained above.

And again, as above, my reply to him when he asked about it was polite and direct. He just didn't like the answer so he went off.

Damn, Will got banned? He seemed like such a real guy, always on top of things, and always looking out for the better good of webmasters. If anyone knows where he is posting now, drop me a line. I don't post much, but I really enjoyed reading his posts.

On a side note, I did some work with him at one point, he paid on time, and was a man of his word, which is a lot more than you can say about some of the people that remain around here, and continue to scam people without getting banned.

I'm not taking sides here, when Eric says it's time to cool down then it's probably a good idea to cool things down, and that's one of Will's faults I suppose. But shouldn't it apply to everyone directly involved?

At the end of the day Will appears to have made some valid points, as have you, but the problem at your end is that you choose to defend defend defend instead of at least conceding the odd point and admitting that maybe there have been some mistakes made at your end. my take on will is that as his business declines, he wanted to remain relevant. He found a niche and validation by rousing the rabble at the expense of business owners and more importantly, advertisers.

And the security thing effected a lot of us. I had my account at a pretty major program hijacked and would have liked to know where the breach was. But fine no need for any further contact. Just pretend like this stuff never happens. I do not read GFY religiously like some and email from the sponsors as to what was up would have helped.
