There is a gigantic body of expertise at this stage of the game, much of which can be read on sites like Bodybuilding.com, and the common wisdom is that weightlifting needs to be done first while you are fueled up from say breakfast or dinner and then muscles fed immediately afterwards for repair. Cardio is best done either separately (different day for example) or later in the day or, if any time close to weightlifting, do it afterwards not before.

Lifting weights is actually more important for staying in shape and should be the primary focus, of your exercise routine along with a very good diet. And not half-assedly done either. Bowflex is certainly better than nothing but it is somewhat limited of course. Building muscle will raise your metabolism and help you burn calories even while staying at sitting at your computer. Do the cardio afterwards or on a different day to burn off some fat too and make your heart stronger. And get your diet correct as well so that you actually make a noticeable change in your body rather than get frustrated from the inability to change and figure that you are wasting your time with exercising at all. You always want to do things the smartest way to get the most bang for your buck, exercise shouldn't be any different.
