I did, just stopped. It lasted for 2 years and then im started again. Now i'm not thinking bout quitting, something more evil will probably kill me anyway.

Quit cold turkey 13 months ago, I love my new life, I look forward to going to the gym every day and I've saved over $1,000 from not buying em.

Still enjoy going to bars, even if they are smokey, cravings are non existant even after too many beers

Good luck if you decide to quit

                  I quit September 22, 2005. Smoked 1-2 packs a day for like 10 years.
Woke up one day with some major fucking will power and just stopped.

No weight gain, nothing... Now I hate to be around it. I dont do drugs or smoke weed either.

                    I quit in October 2004

Probably tried to quit 20 times in the last 10+ years... was a 1-2 pack a day smoker, sometimes more if I was in vegas or drunk.

I did gain about 30 pounds in the six months after I quit, 10 of which I've lost so far.

I carried the gum for a few weeks, and only chewed a peice when I really needed it. I would usually first try to drink a glass of cold water and that would take my mind off of it. The water is also good because lots of water helps to detox you.

                    Good luck.

Me and my old roomate had a good system back when we were roomies and we both wanted to quit.

First one to smoke a cigarrete had to pay the other $5.. then additional $5 dollars every time you smoked one. If you broke down and bought a pack it was 20$ you owed the other. It actually worked for a while.. i was 2 months without a smoke, then had a bad day.. and broke down.. bought a pack
