The good thing is this thread helped us come up with solutions that should make everybody happier (including Potter & Flu).         Thanks. Like I said, I agree that you have every right to regulate your content in anyway you feel fit. It belongs to you and your word should be final. But these blogs, regardless of your opinion on their worth, deserve to be treated better than just mere fads.

        Bods makes enough money to support his family with his babe blog. I can promise you that badgirlsblog and glam0ur do as well. Calling them out like that isn't like calling out a scammer or a hacker or a spammer, you're calling out someone that might be breaking a rule that could easily be fixed with a little communication.

        You may see them as running a fad, but theyre really running a successful business.

                1:226 to that sponsor is fine, but how many clicks and how much money was made with the other sponsors / sites / ad systems from that page? How much did the sponsor providing the content make from those other sales? How many of those other sales would have happened on a blank page without the image(s)?

                It is sort of the question of how much money was made because of the sponsor's content that won't be shared by the sponsor - basically money made with the content without paying for the content.

                It isn't to poke - it is really a serious question about the finances and viablity of these sorts of sites.

                            - Galleries should never contain more than 20 pics in them
                            - Our watermark is never removed from the pictures

                                    actually the first gallery I got when I clicked that link had a shit load of links to other sponsors.. The very first add you saw was for "girls gone wild" There looked to only be 1 link to Ariel Rebel on the entire gallery.

                                    I clicked it a second time and it went to a gallery that was pushing Ariel Rebel pretty heavily.. several links to her site and any other ads were at the bottom.

                                    So whats the deal did you change the gallery? Because what I see now isn't what I saw the first time.

I'm not going to let blogs, tgps or free sites misuse our promo content. When our content is misused it hurts all of our affiliates and i'm not going to work any private deals to let that happen. I said I could live without blog traffic and I could. If all blogs pulled their Twistys links Twistys would not cease to exist. That doesn't mean I don't want to do business with blogs. What I have been doing is working on solutions to solve the problem and keep everybody happy.

                                                                        I'm anything but two faced. I stand but what i've said in this thread. The one thing I made a mistake on was the fusker comment regarding Bods. That wasn't correct. I still believe that layout promoting other sponsors between pics is wrong.

I mean, you place content for a site because you consider it good and you know your surfers will like that content and eventually sign thru your link, cha-ching. Now, it's common sense not to distract the attention from anything other than the sponsor to which the content belongs. I mean: you won't find that content anywhere else than the sponsor's site itself. Now, there must be a few newbies not knowing this, a few that will count on "sale by opposition" marketing (I can count with the fingers of one hand how many know about this technique) and a vast majority of people promoting other sponsors because the main sponsor for that content simply isn't converting. The question is: are sponsors taking notice of this? I know 99.99% of program owners will say "my site converts like mad", and of course, what else will they say? Sad thing is most of them really believe it.

                                                                                        In short, not pointing to anyone, but most behaviors and patterns have causes, maybe it's time for those in the know to research a little about them

I was talking about I make sites that promote the sponsor and have a small dating ad, but the galleries I never put ads into... So perhaps some of my post is now moot.

I disagree with most or all of what you said here. After re-reading page one of this thread I again get the impression that Shap contacted those webmasters prior to starting this thread. Read his post where he says that a few of them agreed to fix/change a few things, while others argued with him and refused to cooperate with his rules.

                                                                                                                                                In light of that, this thread is completely understandable in my view. He could have just gone ahead and killed their accounts outright with no chance for a dialogue, right? I'm sure some program owners would have. Seems to me Shap has been for the most part quite reasonable in his tone here, even when responding to those who obviously have a skewed and boneheaded attitude.

                                                                                                                                                Shap isn't the first program owner to demand that his stuff appear on affiliate pages alone with no other sponsors. I can think of a few that have had this same rule in place for over 7 years in their TOS.

                                                                                                                                                Lastly, I don't see it as Shap trying to trash anyone's name here. However, the fact is and has always been that when you flout the rules of a program and that program asks you to make a few changes and you flat out refuse to cooperate, you run the risk of A) being shitcanned, B) getting called out on the boards, or C) both.

                                                                                                                                                Final thought: Affiliates need to either follow the rules of the programs they choose to promote, or find other programs to promote that don't mine having their rules broken (or ones that don't have such rules).

                                                                                                                                                            I agree with Shap, that some of the people should be a little more careful with the blogging. that is HIS content, and they are someone using it to promote other sites. I also understand that they are in this to make money, and that the only way to do that is to promote other aff programs as well. But they need to make sure that they put a seperation betewwn the posts.
