New Script: TG Referrers

Hey Everyone,

I finally released version 1 of my new referrers script, and I'm please to announce it as Freeware for all who want to use it.

Basically, I have always loved the Plebian Referrers script, but I always wished for features it didn't have. So .. I have now created a new system that does everything I want.

It has been in private beta on around 20 sites for the last few months, and has proven to be solid.

Say good-bye to people spamming your referrers list, and say good bye to editting and uploading files. It is completely customizable with detailed statistical analysis, an approval system, secure administration control panel and best of all - its FREE!

FEATURES

Secure administration control panel - completely manage your referrals without editing text files

Approval System - you control what sites display on your trade list (keep the spammers out!)

I just also wanted to make sure everyone understands that I'm not saying my script is better than the Plebian one. I have LOVED and appreciated that script for many years. I just personally had different requirements, spam attackers that drove me nuts and wanted some additional features - so I created my own.

There are also many other types of link trade scripts out there with various features.

Use whatever works best for your site.

All of my sites are running the script .. plus many others are setting it up and starting to use it

Woo Hoo! TG Referrers is getting the attention it finally deserves.

I just love this referrers script. All my spam problems are gone. I use it on all my sites. First was on my Morty's Twisted World site cuz that one was just horribly attacked by SPAM hits every minute. And now the problem is handled and gone.

This script rocks. Good to see it getting shared with so many others. Its a must have for ANY webmaster. Big or small site. I use it on all my sites. Its better than any script I've used for hits. Free or paid for scripts. But this one is Free so which is just nuts!

Not built in, but you could easily create a page explaining that its the easiest traffic trading script - and that all anyone has to do is link to any page of your site that is tracked .. and they will appear on your list after approval.

Make sense?

Interesting script man thanks for making it freeware, how many SQL calls does it do per hit if you dont mind me asking?

For the short list - none. It uses a cached text file (this is what you put on most pages of your site)

For the random list - 1 call

For the long list - (which rebuilds the list) many calls, as it rebuilds the database and text file. (this only happens when someone visits the long list page) The number of calls will depend on how many referrers you have approved.

How do you get information into the database in the first place lol? I mean surely it adds the visitor information into the database on each visit no?

Ahh .. yes. It does insert a row .. IF it is referred from another website. This is checked against the db as well for bans.

Nice stuff TheChump. I was just talking to an industry friend about one of these that didn't require someone to sign in first, they could just send traffic to the site.

Great Script, Im running plebian on about 30 sites and its a pain in the ass with all the ref spam I get, this is a sweet replacement

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
