I wish they would put in a Dubai sized speed bump by me, they added a traffic circle and if anything the clowns that would just blow through the intersection before, now blow around the traffic circle at speed.
When I was in San Diego, there was about the same sized speedbumps out there, and you would scrape the bottom of the car at 3mph, I could only imagine what it would be like at 60+mph.Comment

Actually, as I used to be a cab-driver, and usually in a hurry I found out that going over speedbumps at 60km/h is easier on the car than going over them at 30km/h. The upwards motion on the higher speed causes the car to 'float' just over the bump. Going at it at 100km/h will make the car jump. Tested that also.Originally posted by erehwon

Fuck this brings back memories. I did the same thing, when they put one in coquitlam, BC round round the corner from where I lived. My Viper back end came up and bounced twice, the speaker box I just got put in the wheel well broke free of it's attachements, hit the window, but didn't break it, then rested half in and half out the wheel well.
Scared the living fuck out of me, as I came around the corner doing about 80- 100KPH and hit the brakes as soon as I saw it, which was about a second before I hit it.
Luckily, no damage other than the speaker box.
