Its more of something that you as a tech support rep give to your clueless customer, so that they can tell you what their IP is since they not only dont know what IP they have been assigned, much less what an IP is.

For a second I couldn't find my ip on the page...thought it was just a landing page...a few people might close the window thinking the site is gone.

Yep, I guess that one block of Google Adsense wasn't paying shit. I doubt many people will click those other links either, but you never know. It is a numbers game.
