    Oh ever teling minds at GFY please answer this BUSINESS thread

    OK...

    so I got this email addy that I made and only used for one thing on a very very large mainstream website.. talking a multi multi million dollar website TV spots during sports events and shit...

    so now that we see it's oober huge lets get to facts...


    now I get spam on that email addy in an insane amount for stupid shit.. so they sold my list or they are affilaites of all these things and they send the list out... im talking it is everything from porn to ipods to myspace layouts.. you name it I get it in the spam on this email addy...

    which brings me to this...

    I have 25k emails of members and shit those are people that have whipped out credit cards.. ive never sold them as of yet.. I think id be a dick if I did don't you? fact I bet GFY would flame the shit out of me if I did right? so then why is it ok for these larger corporations to do so and everyone keeps silent?


    now just answer me would I not be fucked up to sell emails? or is this something that has been going on for years that I just didn't know about and im living under a rock now? so would I be a dick or what?

          the fuck you think selling it? Use it yourself.

          Promote cross promote make a Mail Emagazine and you might make 2X more than what ya got goin on right now.

              goes the same way for cell phone number databases. All those popups "put your phone number here to get your true loves name texted to you or get this video free on your phone, backgrounds etc are creating large databases of numbers. Spamming phones isnt really big in the USA right now, but in my travels to europe and asia, i dont have one fucking phone number that hasnt been auto spammed, even when not giving it out.

                  oh yeah dood I mail it myself all the time... well not too much because I always thought that too much was me being a dick but maybe I am wrong.. it converts like great for me... and thats just on my shit and thats a tiny tiny little niche of hardcore throat gaggin I am sure it would make more elsewhere but I really only promote my shit know what I mean....

                  im just wondering here do these big companies do it themselvs or do they sell it off and let the others do it and they just take like 10 cents an addy and forget it?

                      avn did that to me that year when I was a speaker... cause the only reason I had that phone was for avn and never gave it to anyone never used it it was a prepay then all of a sudden spam on the phone

                                      In California, you are required to have a Privacy Policy. If you don't specifically state what the uses will be for the personal info you receive, then you can't use it for any other purposes.

                                      Anyway, most people in adult don't even seem to have correct info in their 2257 notice, so I'm fairly certain that most porn sites don't even try to comply...

                                      For me, it's also an ethical issue. Do you like getting spam? If not, then why deal it onto others?

                                      So, I'm guessing it's GGW, since I'm not sure who else is advertising on TV. If that's the case, then I'm not surprised, since there seems to be a near absence of ethics within that company, starting at the top.
