I find that most programs will let you do both if you ask them. Some just have that option preset in their campaigns though too.

I typically will do this when I am on the fence. Then after a period of time I will know what is doing better for me and continue to use that.

Though I do tend to lean towards revshare on many sites as long as they permit me to peak in the members area.
