Tony getting shot by Junior was a good ending but all in all I have to say it wasn't the best episode ever

I thought it was a great opening. Junior shooting Tony was a complete surprise......more blood, less psych this season.

I thought the show had greater possibilities than last year with all that psycho babble and dream sequences....at least this year, there was bloodshed...and Tony getting shot? Nice ending.

Don't read the following if you really want to be surprised. SERIOUSLY, I AM KIND OF PISSED AT MYSELF FOR READING THE FIRST PARAGRAPH. I stopped reading after that.


Episode one, Junior is worse. His dimentia has gotten out of hand. I don't know how they did this but Junior misplaces his teeth and it looks real! He's also VERY paranoid and thinks everyone is out to get him and his "buried money". Tony, his sister Barabra and Janice (who is a new Mom...she has a baby daughter with Baccala) discuss the assisted living possibility and tony insists that THEY alone take care of their uncle. In the end, Barbara has to leave early and Janice can't come over to Juniors house becasue of the baby, so Tony angrily leaves his boat (Stugots II) and goes to attend his ailing uncle. While fixing him some pasta, Tony yells uptairs for Juior to come down and eat. Junior comes down confused ( one of the scariest images of Junior with no teeth) and shoots Tony in the stomach. He then runs back upstairs, hides the gun and hides himself in the closet...terrified. Tony lays bleeding and trying to crawl to a phone. It's agonizing to see him bleeding to death and aunable to reach the phone. The 1st episode ends with Tony losing conciousness.


One of the subplots is quite interesting. I can't remembe rthe older guys name that was a RAT, the same time Big @#%$ was. But he goes to give the detectives some tapes and as he's about to spill the beans on a recent event, he keels over and dies. It's funny becasue no knoe knows he was a snitch for so long and all the guys at the funeral mention what a standup guy he was. Yeah right.

Another major subplot is Eugene. I don't know if you recall this guy. He was made the same time Chris was. Tall, skinny. He worked under Ralph and then subsequently worked under Vito (Vito has lost a lot of weight and even makes a remark to Janice about killing yourself because of being a closeted homo). Anyway, the entire episode Eugene is trying to "get out of the businiess". Apparently his aunt dies and left him over 2 million dollars and he and his family want to start over in Florida. It appears Eugene is trying to go the respectful route and ask Tony straight up if this can happen. Tony keeps blowing him off despite Euguene splurging on gifts for Tony and the family. Eugen'e wife adds alot of pressure at home and it seems poor Eugene is in a dilemna. Until we see him get into a car with the detectives. He's been a rat for quite sometime. They also douse his dreams of moving to Florida becasue they need him to stay as close to Tony to get info. With no end in sight and Tony ultimately denying Eugene (thru silvio)...Eugene goes to his basement and hangs himself. Pretty graphic and realistic. They made it look like he wanted to die but as soon as he jumped he tried to pull himself up but couldn't. Pissing all over himself, he's now dead.


Epidode 2

Dream sequence because Tony is in a coma. I didn't really like this one but it was VERY emotional. When he's not dreaming they show Carmela and the family going thru hard times; sticking by him at the hospital, talking to him to keep his brain stimulated. Very emotional Carmela scene.

The show was definitely a surprise.
I really felt for the guy that hung himself because I think we can all relate with a spouse always being dissapointed with us. That was hard for the guy to deal with. I was surprised by all the Snitches too. Good thing that they died though.

I think next they'll go after the nephew as a snitch.

What did the old man yell to Tony before he shot him?

Tony will be in the Hospital as that Faggot guy will take over the family while he is down.

He's gunna go after Tony's daughter's Boyfriend and try to kill em.(remember last season he caught the fag blowing some guy in a car.)

Instead by accident he will kill Tony's daughter.

They are also gunna blame the guy who hung himself for shooting Tony.

Good season opener.

I'd like to see Christopher get whacked some time soon. I just don't like the guy.

same with Tony's son AJ. Lazy mouthy useless little turd that he is.

AJ will do a complete 180 and make his bones this season because of the chain of events that happens because of his his father being shot.

I really think this season is going to be good one. I agree about AJ too.

They are leaving the possibility open for a movie. Also, the past few seasons David Chase said each of the last few seasons would probably be the last so ya never know.

most of this season will revolve around the repurcussions of that.

Tony's son has been a lazy mouthy little prick since the show started. Saying "fuck you" to his mother when she cares about him so much was the clincher. The little fuckface needs a serious dose of Soprano reality.

As for Christopher, Tony should have shot him in the head in that episode where Christopher thought Tony was doing his girlfriend. Tony had him at gunpoint on that deserted stretch of road, I was disappointed when he didn't pull the trigger.

Totally agree about the kid. You didn't grow up in that kind of family, did you?

But, see this kid IS growing up and Carmella's a pussy when it comes to her kids....she's never been much of a disciplinarian.....it'd be a cool twist, with Tony shot, if AJ gets pissed off enough to become a man. Do you remember in past scenes, Tony and the guys are always talking about the beatings they got for what they did as kids? That's why they were so respectful and AJ isn't.

I mean, it's all speculation; but, damn, CD...he's just starting to get those bad boy looks....in a year, he could be eye candy...

As to Christopher...when they intervened and put him in rehab, it was time for him to go. He can't act. His girlfriend was a snitch and may I say that was the worst execution they could have come up with....and I wish they would do him next.
