    AFF, Sex Search, IWantU etc - your geo targetting sucks donkey balls...

    i'm currently working on a dating site and i must say: the geo targetting that is used by companies like AFF, Sex Search or IWantU (and all the others) is fucking horrible. it's neither exact nor makes it any sense. AFF says "Germania" instead of Germany - like we still had the huns reigning here. And of course it's supposed to say "Deutschland" when targetting german customers. And IWantU presents black girls as search results for areas that haven't seen even one black person the last 100 years. can't look more fake than that. sucks. [/rant]

                  In defense of the profile pictures, think about the legalities of it. They usually have to use bought content of models for mass promotional efforts. You think it would be easy to get 2257 docs, and 2 copies of Picture ID's from the teen hottie next door who just made a profile & uploaded her boobies via the web on a whim?

                          You think you've got it rough? AFF banners piss the hell out of me because they insist on greeting some guy who lives in a city 40 miles away.

                          But anyway, geotargeting is shitty in all its incarnations simply because maintaining such a huge and highly precise database perpetually while having chaos at the input is a bitch.
