    Hosting Question???

I have a problem figureing out how to host a content shop? Let's say I got about 500 GB of content. How do I host that? Do I send out the orders on DVD or should there be instant download? Won't the instant download bandwidth costs kill me? Maybe someone has suggestions?

Usually instant download and yes the BW will probably cost an arm and a leg. You can probably do it either way, it's up to you.

Instant download AND DVD if the client requests it. That's usually the only way I want my content now a days unless someone offers a DV stream (Which no one has yet).

No, bandwidth won't kill you. You can only hope to have enough orders to "kill you" and if you do you can easily afford to handle it.

You can get a decent 10mb package from most hosts for $199. I don't think you will need that much though, maybe a 5mbs will do what you need. Remember, everyone won't be ordering 500 gig orders! LOL

The only issue you have is the size of the hard drive. Now that won't be cheap. Contact Mike at www.Webair.com for a deal on that with a basic 5mbs plan. If you are smart you will host the content on a separate server than your storefront.

I'd love to see what you have for sale before it goes on sale. Hit me on IseeQ 1529~70595
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

Probably should consider developing a customer DB for the management of that content for your customers, is the content already encoded?

About 50% is already encoded. Nice site you have there, maybe you can give me a good deal on hosting? Please send me an offer to [email protected]

Just talk about it directly to the hosting companies. I'm sure they will help you out. A little surprised that no one is all over you by now.

i think dvds would end up cheaper. you could give an option for overnight shipping...
