Let´s say that if you are just sitting there in front of your PC and you happen to check your blood pressure and it is at 170/120 is pretty bad, unless you suffer from panic attacks, GAD, or you were just running, etc. A sudden pump in your adrenaline can raise your blood pressure a lot. I once got it at 190/110, pulse at 154, and it was a panic attack, after 5 mins it was back to normal 120/80, but it won´t harm you to get it monitored at an emergency room or best get a 24 hr blood pressure monitoring ;)
